The left side of her head is decorated with a tasseled pink ornament, described in The Art of Splatoon 2 as being reminiscent of cooked shrimp. On her feet are white tabi socks and black geta sandals with green thongs. Over top she wears a black haori jacket, with hanging sleeves and a triangle squid pattern along the bottom, similar to the traditional Japanese uroko pattern. Around her waist is green obi belt with a squid shaped golden obidome charm. She wears a grey kimono decorated with a green and yellow wave pattern at the hem, in a style not unlike the traditional Japanese seigaiha pattern. Her attire suggests she is trying to hide her identity from fans that happen to see her.Īt Tentakeel Outpost, Marie wears traditional Japanese-style clothing, similar to how she dressed as a child. Interestingly, her beauty mark is not present. Her tentacles appear to be in the same hairstyle as her idol outfit, peaking out from the back of the cap. She wears what seems to be a green shirt, a green baseball hat with a logo similar to that of clothing brand Firefin, and a white facemask. In her squid form, as seen in Super Mario Maker, Marie is a standard green squid, but with her signature pupils and eyelash-like points on top of her eye markings.ĭuring the story mode in Splatoon while posing as Agent 2, Marie is shown in a more undercover outfit, with only the top half known. This represents her normal ink color, as seen in her amiibo figure and squid form in Super Mario Maker and Miitomo. The calamari can be seen briefly flying off when she jumps, as it only rests on top of her head.ĭuring a Splatfest, any part of Marie's appearance that is normally green changes to match the color of her Splatfest team, including the ends of her tentacles. In addition to lime green tights, Marie also wears black shorts under her dress. On her feet, Marie wears a pair of ankle high black boots, with green wedge heels and two green buttons on either side of the ankle. With this outfit, she wears white gloves, chunky white hoop earrings, and a detached white pointed collar. On the front are three horizontal lime green stripes, which resemble the cuts made in ikayaki, or fried squid, a popular Japanese festival food. The romper is made in a material that has a reflective texture, as if covered in color-shifting hexagonal sequins. The top of her outfit is form-fitting, and closes with green laces in the back. Marie wears a black strapless romper that includes a skirt and a heart shaped neckline. The coloration on the ends of Marie's tentacles Her ears are slightly narrower, longer, and more down turned than those of the average Inkling. She has large golden irises and plus-shaped brown pupils underneath large oval eyebrows. Unlike of the usual Inkling eye mask, Marie's eye markings are more droopy, with small eyelash-like points, and include a beauty mark under her right eye. The ends of her tentacles have a green gradient and are decorated with spots. Her tentacles, which are light gray, are tied in a large bow on the right side of her head, with the ends wrapped around to the other side and curling up slightly at the ends. Marie is a very fashionable Inkling and has a more 'laid-back' design in comparison to her cousin.
